Coverage

365 Home Warranty offers three different home appliance and system coverage plans. They have the Basic Plan, the Standard Plan and the Premium Plan. The Basic and Standard plans can be customized according to the preferences of the customer.

The Basic Plan is exclusively an appliance coverage plan and you can choose five appliances from a list to cover. Among the listed items are the standard cooktop, oven/range/stove, dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer, but also the not-so-standard doorbell, bathroom exhaust fan and stand-alone freezer.

The Standard Plan offers complete appliance coverage and covers two home systems of your choice. You can choose between a hot water heater, whirlpool bathtub, ductwork, plumbing, electrical system, central AC and central heating system. The complete appliance coverage includes built-in microwave, oven/range/stove, cooktop, dishwasher, refrigerator, clothes washer and dryer, garage door opener, garbage disposal, trash compactor, instant hot water dispenser, and attic, ceiling, kitchen, and bathroom fans.

The Premium plan provides the most extensive coverage of both home appliances and systems. In addition to all home appliances that can be covered by the Standard Plan, the Premium Plan also covers all previously mentioned home systems. With the Premium Plan you don’t have to choose only two systems from the list to cover because this plan covers all of them. In addition to appliance and system coverage, the Premium Plan also comes with free road side assistance. When you’re a user of the 365 Home Warranty Premium Plan, you can have completely free road side assistance available 24 hours a day. You can contact them at any time by calling a toll-free number. Roadside assistance covers on-sight repairs, fuel, tire service, towing service and lock out service.

Additional coverage is available for all customers, regardless of the plan they use. You can enrich your 365 Home Warranty plan by additionally covering your central vacuum, whole home humidifier, whole home water softener, ice maker, wine refrigerator, pool, spa, well pump, sump pump, additional central AC system, additional central heating system, septic system and lawn sprinkler system. You can also protect your TV and PC, which is rare for a home warranty company.

Terms and Conditions

365 Home Warranty does not publicly share their terms and conditions, but there some basic terms stated in the FAQ section. On the other hand, a sample contract is available online and it’s very easy to find it on the site since it has been added as a separate web page. It’s highly recommended that you read the sample contract before contacting the company about getting a new home warranty plan because some conditions can be left out of the main web pages.

365 Home Warranty plans don’t cover pre-existing conditions, except in cases when the malfunction can’t be detected by visual inspection or simple mechanical test on the coverage period start date. The coverage period starts 30 days after you make a payment for your home warranty plan and lasts for one year.

Every time an authorized technician is sent to your home you have to pay a $75 Service call fee. If you request a non-emergency service outside the normal business hours, you’re obliged to pay any overtime charge and additional fees. The company offers a 90-day guarantee for parts and a 30-day guarantee for labor.

A sample contract on their website lists covered items in detail and it should be read very carefully. When you do so, you’ll find out that, for example, although the company claims to cover your AC system, in reality, only certain parts of your AC are covered. For example, your heat pump system, refrigerant filter dryer and internal wiring are covered, but your fossil fuel control system, humidifiers and heat recovery unit aren’t. We recommend you read thoroughly before singing everything to make sure 365 Home Warranty is the right fit for you.

Another interesting thing we found in the sample contract is the monetary coverage ranges for particular items. This means that repairs and replacements only within a certain monetary range are covered. The company also doesn’t cover any failures which are the result of improper installation, previous repair or manufacturer’s defect. 365 Home Warranty doesn’t cover any costs of carpentry, construction or other incidental costs.

In the event of that you sell the home covered by 365 Home Warranty’s warranty, you can transfer the contract to the new owner. All you have to do is inform the company about the transfer, provide all necessary personal information of new owner and pay a $50 fee.

If you decide to cancel the contract during the first 30 days of the coverage period, without any claims filed, you’re entitled a full refund, minus a cancellation fee. If you cancel the contract after the first 30 days, you’ll receive a pro-rated refund, minus a cancelation fee.

365 Home Warranty provides free quotes and discounts for military customers, veterans, senior citizens, federal and state employees, students, teachers, not-for profit organization employees and many others. They also have rewards for customer loyalty as well. For instance, if you refer a friend or family member, you’ll get a $25 American Express Gift Card when the referred plan becomes active. Or, if you don’t request service within 12 months of contract term, you can get some additional discounts.

Customer Service

As a 365 Home Warranty customer you can call customer support 24/7 all 365 days of the year, or file a claim online. Moreover, you can always contact them if you need some information, explanation or assistance. The customer support service will dispatch your request to an authorized contractor and he or she will contact you in the following 48 hours.

If you don’t have a claim to file, but would like to inform yourself a bit more about home warranties, you can check the FAQ sections. Their FAQ section is very informative and often includes the company’s terms and conditions as part of the answer.

This company meets all my requirements, really. At first I was a bit cautious and signed up for the Basic Plan. At the time my dishwasher broke down and I knew it was a big test for 365 Home Warranty. I called, they said they’d send someone and it really turned out like that. The contractor came the next day and fixed it without making a mess (which is always my biggest fear when I have a contractor in my house). They seemed reliable, when my contract ran out I upgraded to the Premium Plan. I had a flat tire once, and I really don’t know the first thing about changing a tire, so a mechanic was sent and everything turned out fine. That’s when I decided to for some additional coverage as well.

Well, this was unpleasant. I got the standard plan with 365 Home Warranty. After two months my fridge died. I called. They said someone would come around quickly. But that didn’t happen. It took them three days to come by. And all the while my fridge continued flooding my house. The guy tried to get out of it, like wasn’t covered or something. I got mad and he dropped it. He fixed the damn thing and left. I called to complain about the guy, but they left me on hold. I realized the whole damn company is a scam and gave up. I found the contract and tried to cancel it. That was two months before the expiration.  They postponed everything till the day the contract expired.

My mother convinced me to sign up for a home warranty and I did it for the sake of her peace of mind although I was against it. A few months later I discovered that my Mom was right, as always. Soon after my AC failed and I had to call 365. The contractor arrived the next day and repaired it in the blink of an eye. He clearly was very competent. I had to tell my Mom she was right and agreed to upgrade to Premium.

My experience with 365 was a real life nightmare. I signed a contract three months ago and my plumbing system failed completely, the whole house was out of water. I called them and requested service asap because it was an emergency. They said someone’s on the way, but the contractor didn’t show up until the next day. He found the problem, it was some valve, but he wasn’t sure if it’s covered and also didn’t have a new part at all. He said he’d come the next day. And he did, but only to tell me that it wasn’t covered and I had to pay the service fee twice!

I’ve had different plans with 365 in the past five years and I’m very happy with them. I’ve had some unpleasant situations with other companies in the past, but 365 still works for me. It’s not seamless, don’t get me wrong. Sometimes I have to wait longer for the contractor to come, but they’re always real experts and fix everything in the shortest amount of time. I’ll just suggest a bit faster service.

This is the third warranty company I’ve signed with and it’s not a fairytale, but it’s fine. I’ve filed claims several times. Sometimes they are very efficient and sometimes I had to wait for days. Once they refused to repair my dryer cause they said it wasn’t covered. But then they saved the day when I ran out of gas in the middle of nowhere. But the contractors are always great, i’ll give them that, real professionals.

I know marketing is one thing and the reality a totally different one, but this company is just beyond every scam and shame! I took the premium plan, read the contract twice, spent tone of cash to get everything covered and what I got in return? Big, fat NOTHING!!! Cause only nothing is covered here.

We’re quite satisfied with 365 Home Warranty, I must say. My husband and I aren’t so fond of house repairs and we prefer someone else to do it for us. Now we have Premium warranty plan which covers everything, including the car. The service was a bit late once, though.

Never sign a contract with 365 guys, NEVER! They took my money, covered nothing and charged extra every time. For the money I’ve spent I could have renovated the whole place!
