User reviews of Virginia home warranty companies

  • Submitted By Andrew Burns, Norfolk, TotalProtect

I’m a real handyman and I enjoy fixing things, but the trouble is that I’m a marine and most of the time I’m far from home. My wife is a gentle woman and I don’t like the idea of her struggling with home repairs or making deals with self-proclaimed contractors. That’s why I signed a contract with Total Protect. I took out a Combo plan because I didn’t want to take chances. This way everything’s covered and there’s nothing my wife has to worry about. She said she usually calls Total three to four times a year and they always react quickly and send someone ASAP. I even witnessed one visit. My wife wanted me to see how efficient they were and I was waiting to see them on the field. The plumber was very professional, found the malfunction very fast and fixed the problem. I was very content, so I renewed the contract recently.

I don’t know if that’s the deal with all warranty companies, but the service of 365 seems to depend on the mood of the ladies from customer support. When I called for the first time, a polite young girl took the call and I had no problems setting an appointment. But the second time some old bitter lady answered and I couldn’t even explain my problem. I got an appointment five days later, when I called again and somebody else picked up.

I can’t handle the incompetence and arrogance of this company! They think we’ll all fall for the sugar of their story and keep paying for nothing! Unbelievable! It took me a month to realize this was a big, big scam and I’m not sticking with the contract any minute longer!
