User reviews of Oklahoma home warranty companies

  • Submitted By Rosemond Daniels, Tulsa, Total Home Protection

I’ve had Total Home Protection warranty for two years now, my daughter found it for me and I agreed that it was a good idea. I retired three years ago and my children live on the East Coast and don’t come often. That’s why I thought it would be good to have someone to call when things break down. I was so lucky I could call Total Home when my oven broke. Oh, God, it was horrible! There was a small explosion and it got on fire. The technician later explained it happened because it was old and a bit of grease started a flame. He couldn’t repair it, but I got a new one. It’s really good to have them around.

  • Submitted By Nigel Clark, Edmond, Choice Home Warranty

I have only words of praise for the technicians working for Choice. These people, both guys and girls, are superb! They’re all very professional, helpful and they always clean the place after they finish the job. Unfortunately, things are very different when it comes to the rest of the company. First of all, the contract. Their lawyers did a damn good job there, I give them that. It’s so tricky that they’re always a step ahead and you never get what you thought you would. Then, the support. They keep you waiting till just a second before you get a nervous breakdown! I’m not sure anymore that having a warranty is worth the stress.

  • Submitted By Richard Knight, Oklahoma City, First American

First American was really great at first. They were quick and reliable. Every time I called, I got through immediately, and they really sent help in the following 48 hours. No fuss, no hassle, no problems. But all of a sudden the quality of service started to deteriorate. They made me wait for hours before answering my calls, started giving me false information, overcharged… Maybe the management changed or something…whatever the case, I’m done with them.

  • Submitted By Pablo Gutierrez, Norman, AHS

One of my friends was happy with AHS so I decided to purchase a plan. I actually even built my own plan for extra protection, falsely believing that my entire household was protected. It was pricey, but hey, everything’s covered, right? Obviously not. As it turns out, not one of my appliances is covered – they are, but just never the parts that break down. Convenient, right?
