User reviews of Michigan home warranty companies

  • Submitted By Dereck Smith, Albion, 365 Home Warranty

This is my fifth warranty company and I have a feeling I’ve seen it all. After I canceled a plan with the last one, I prepared myself for the worst. I already knew they were all thieves and frauds, but I desperately need this service because my house is big, I’m away five days a week and my wife can’t really fix things around the house. So, I gave 365 a chance. After two months, I realized it was worth it. They are really available 24/7/365 and the technicians are real pros. They turned down our claim once, though, so I can’t say they are perfect, but they are quite good, especially if you have an old house, with old systems and appliances.

  • Submitted By Britney Rogers, Chelsea, Square Trade

I thought this was gonna be super easy and that I’d never have to look for a plumber again, that kind of stuff. But it turns out I was so god damn wrong that I don’t even know where to start. First, I didn’t understand a word in that complicated contract, it was like reading chinese. Then I needed a miracle to get anyone answer my calls. When someone finally took my call and I explained my problem, I had to wait for 6 damn days for someone to come! At least he fixed the holly fridge, thank God!

  • Submitted By Marion Melville, Battle Creek, TotalProtect

Total Protect is like the uncle who drops by from time to time and fixes that squeaky hinge and tightens the valves. We’ve been with Total for three years now and every time anything around the house breaks, they respond to our claim fast and efficiently. We’ve never had to wait more than 48 hours for a technician to come to our house.

  • Submitted By Billy Clark, Dearborn, AHS

I should have signed a contract with AHS, it was really a stupid decision. I should have known that they were only looking for a way to trick people into giving them money for nothing.

  • Submitted By Mike Franklin, Detroit, Choice Home Warranty

They’re not bad, but they’re not impressive either. Sometimes they fix things and sometimes they say it’s not covered and leave.
