User reviews of Arizona home warranty companies

  • Submitted By Nick Rossi, Sedona, Warranty Direct

I opted for Warranty Direct because I previously had auto warranty with them and it was fine and it made sense, financially. Sadly, that wasn’t the case with the home warranty plan I picked. It was just a waste of money in my opinion. You can’t really protect your appliances and when they break down no one is going to cover the cost of your repair. They may promise to do so, but it is definitely not a very truthful promise. Mainly because they don’t ever repair anything, they just keep saying “Sir, unfortunately this is not included in your coverage”

I think I’ve made a mistake when I picked a 365 plan. I thought it was better to pick five appliances but then when something broke it was, of course, the one appliance I did not include in the plan – my microwave. So folks get the premium or standard plan, please!

  • Submitted By Jeff Balducci, Scottsdale, Choice Home Warranty

Choice is a company that has been around for a while, which is the main reason I chose them. I also like the fact that their basic plan, which is cheaper, is pretty good and includes many appliances. What I don’t like is that the company seems very intent on approving as little claims as possible. I’m not just talking out of personal experience with them, I’ve actually spoken to some other families who have the same plan and they told me the same thing. The company always finds a loophole and then says there’s nothing they can do about it.

I chose SquareTrade because they don’t do classic home warranty but instead allow you to insure new appliances, which I thought was important since you definitely don’t want those to break down, not after having paid all that money. The thing is, new appliances hardly ever break down. It’s better to get a plan that covers several of your old appliances, those that are more likely to go crazy on you.
