User reviews of Alabama home warranty companies

  • Submitted By Erica Wang, Mobile, Total Protect

Total Protect was alright but I wouldn’t consider renewing my agreement. One of the reasons is the expensive deductible, which is far above the industry mean. The other reason is that they reject too many claims, and I’m not just saying this out of personal experience, but also from friends’ and relatives who also used this company. On the other hand, their system is efficient and they have some fine technicians.

I bought home warranty from AHS because I heard they were the best, and I have to say, they are definitely very good. Everything, from signing the warranty contract to filing a claim and having your appliance or system fixed is done very smoothly, efficiently and easily for everyone involved.

I wouldn’t really recommend First American to anyone. Not because they are a lousy company –they are not. In fact, they are doing their best at being the most transparent and honest as possible without sabotaging their own business. But the thing is, these home warranty plans don’t really work. You have to be very lucky to have a plan and then have the type of breakdown that is actually covered by the plan. It never happened to me. Got four denied claims. Four, people! And zero accepted ones. Obviously, as soon as my agreement term ended, it was adios folks!
